Some words from us: Nick and Sarah were amongst the first 6 or so lucky couples who had their wedding reception at the newly opened glorious art deco Hydro Majestic Hotel. Needless to say, we were a bit excited: an autumn wedding, the beautiful Blue Mountains AND a stunning art deco building! When we first met Nick & Sarah on skype, I vividly remember Nick telling me that he’d fallen in love with the way we capture sunsets and was hoping he could have some of that in his wedding photos. Well. We wedding photographers are pretty clever, but we can’t magic a sunset. However. Nick and Sarah not only had one of the most stunning sunsets I’ve ever seen during their pre-wedding portrait shoot in Canberra, but they had another glorious one on their wedding day too, right in front of the Hydro Majestic on the edge of a cliff with a spectacular mountain view. You can’t get much more lucky than that.
From the start we loved the look of Katie and Jeremy’s photos – they had such a strong sense of warmth and that was exactly what we wanted for our own wedding photos. And from our first meeting with Katie and Jeremy we knew that they understood what we wanted. They understood that we were seeking a mix of natural and formal shots, of capturing important moments and including all our family and friends, and perhaps most of all, they knew that we just wanted to be ‘ourselves’. Our pre-wedding shoot was not only a chance to become comfortable with having our photos taken (which was very easy with Katie and Jeremy) but it was also a whole lot of fun and the end result were some truly spectacular images. It was also a chance to get to know Katie and Jeremy well and for them to know us, so that on the wedding day there was a real sense of ease and enjoyment. The photos of our wedding day were a perfect combination of special moments, casual photos of our guests enjoying the day, beautiful family portraits and stunning photos in front of sprawling landscapes and sunsets. We loved having Katie and Jeremy there to capture those memories of the day with warmth, colour, humour, sensitivity and joy evident right across their fantastic collection of images. ~ Nick & Sarah x
