A friend showed me her family photos from Heartstory one morning at work, and straight after I just picked up the phone to book a session with my son, Oliver. Enough time had passed thinking about doing a professional photo shoot! There had been so many reasons not to do it…too busy, too hard to organise, too expensive, too…whatever. And that’s how we had the pleasure of meeting Katie (and later Jeremy)… I remember when we met Katie at our photo shoot location how impressed I was at her low key, calm approach. Nothing was staged and she just captured our moments mucking around together. Perfect. Katie’s ability to get us to relax and do our thing – kicking the footy, playing with our dog, dancing, talking to each other – was key. We had FUN! It’s a real gift as a photographer to be part of these moment/s – to be intimately involved in capturing the “magic” – without impacting the dynamic of those being photographed. This photo shoot marked a special milestone for me as a single Mum, too, so I’ll always treasure the experience and these fabulous photos! Thank you. ~ Jackie
