The Heartstory photography experience
Having your family photographed is a celebration of you—your story, the love you share and your ‘right now’.
Jeremy Byrnes and Katie Kolenberg (the owners and principle photographers at Heartstory, est. 2009) are award winning family portrait specialists and two of the most experienced family photographers in the region. They are known for how they connect with children and babies, their fun approach to families, their use of the natural environment and our creative vision. They provide personal, customised service and unique heirloom products, for every taste and budget.
Winter months give you the perfect opportunity to get cosy in our beautiful, natural light, Belconnen studio. Our space is soft, textural, nature-inspired and spacious for all kinds of families and groups. It’s designed to be comfortable and safe for adults and little ones. We have toys, an array of furniture, a variety of backdrops to suit your aesthetic and a client wardrobe for mums and babies.
We provide a full service experience including the following:
1. Consultation
Over the phone. We get to know you, find out your hopes and wishes for your photos, and discuss things like location and styling. We book you for both sessions.
3. PHOTOGRAPHY Session
You have a blast being photographed and we capture all the magic of this chapter of your life in our freshly made-over, natural light studio.
4. Purchasing appointment
You come back in for a personal appointment at our studio. Your decision-making game is strong. We create beautiful artwork for you to keep forever.

We welcome all kinds of sessions into our studio – maternity, newborn, baby, young children, families with older kids, couples, even pets! Sessions are available on weekdays and weekends at a variety of times.

Full transparency: although this special offer represents significant value and there is no obligation to purchase, you will not be able to walk away from this experience with just a couple of photos! Why? Because you’re going to love your photos too much!
Your guarantee: it’s important that you feel safe and looked after during your experience with us, therefore we take full liability for the creation of your portrait collection. You don’t need to make any decisions or commitment to buy anything until your purchasing appointment. And even then, if you don’t want to purchase, or you don’t love your photos, you can just order your included framed print and nothing more. Rest assured, ‘hard-selling’ is not our style! And, if you’re budget conscious, all the information you need is available for you to look at before your book.
We believe that professional portraits deserve pride of place in your home and not lost in the digital clutter of our daily lives, so we have spent many years perfecting our product range to suit contemporary tastes, lifestyles and budgets. You can choose from prints, wall art and albums, and digital files can also be included.
- Matted prints start at $795 for a set of four 8×10″ prints (entry level best value for money)
- Single image framed wall art starts at $695 and multiple image framed wall art starts at $795 (entry level best value for money)
- Digital files can be purchased in small packs ($1000 for 4) or they are complimentary with bigger packages.
- Matching digital files are complimentary with all orders of prints and artwork over $1500
- Signature wall collections with 3-4 individual pieces start at $2495.
Most families invest $800 to $3000 on their portrait collection. Payment plans are available.

Terms & conditions
This offer is not available for currently booked sessions, pending gift certificate bookings, or sessions that are pending a reschedule.
- Session must take place before end of August 2025.
