As you know, we have recently had a month off, which started with an incredible family holiday in California, and ended with a week in Melbourne for APPA (the Australian Professional Photography Awards).
Jeremy entered the Travel category with the four images from Iceland that won him the title of 2016 AIPP ACT Travel Photographer of the Year in March. He came away with a silver distinction and two silvers, which earnt him enough points to step up another notch on the APPA honours system, so he was awarded his Master of Photography!
I entered the Family category with two of the images that won me the title of 2016 AIPP ACT Family/Portrait Photographer of the Year in March (plus one new one and one that had a complete makeover) and I received a gold, a silver distinction and two silvers. I earnt the first gold bar on my Master of Photography alongside some pretty big names in the business, which was as massive honour!!! But most wonderful of all, I came extremely close to backing up my big win last year – I was a finalist for 2016 Australian Family Photographer of the Year!!!
We would like to say a big thank you to you, our clients. Without you, we couldn’t do what we do. You truly value the ‘art’ we inject into family portraiture, and we are so happy there is a place for the work we do to be recognised in the Australian Professional Photography Awards.
We also want to thank our professional body, the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), and the incredible work of the APPA team and the volunteers. I don’t know where I’d be without the AIPP and the incredible warmth and support of the Australian photography industry, but it wouldn’t be here.
